Rules of the Road
- Deposit
- A refundable security deposit is taken at pickup — ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 depending on the bike — and returned with the keys, less any damage or extra kilometres.
- Licence
- Bring your original driving licence and a physical photo ID (Aadhaar or passport). Only the rider named on the agreement may ride.
- Kilometres
- Unlimited kilometres on every bike except the Classic 500, which includes 250 km a day; extra kilometres are charged per km at return.
Old Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Old Manali, at the start of the Leh road
The garage is at the top of Old Manali, past the cafés, where the lane meets the Manali–Leh highway. You are on the way to Solang and the Atal Tunnel in ten minutes, without crossing town.
Old Manali is the end of the road above town: a lane of cafés and guesthouses that climbs from the Manalsu bridge and meets the Manali–Leh highway at the top, which is where the garage is. That position is the point. You ride out onto the Leh road without touching Mall Road traffic, and the Atal Tunnel is 25 km away, so a first-day ride to Sissu and back is an easy morning. Solang is fifteen minutes up the same road. Down the valley, the Beas road to Kullu and Kasol is a full day on good tarmac. Evenings are the other reason riders stay here: the cafés on the lane are where people back from Spiti compare notes on the road, and the garage is open until ten for anyone who needs a chain set before the next morning.

When to come
Mid-June to early October is the prime riding season when high-altitude passes like Rohtang, Kunzum, and Ladakh routes are fully open. September is the absolute sweet spot with clear skies and minimal water crossings. November to May is off-season as high-altitude passes remain blocked by heavy winter snow.

Why we stay open late
Redline started as two mechanics in Old Manali, above the Beas, who kept the lights on late. Riders came back from Spiti after dark with a chain to adjust and a flight at noon, so we stayed open until ten, and still do. Every bike is checked the evening before it goes out: chain, brakes, tyres, oil. You collect it at six and are past Solang before the tour buses.
